I really like the trade down for Pouncey... what extra pick do you have them getting?

Hey Pizza...given that the trade-up for Jimmy Clausen would mean a 3 spot jump, I would guess that either a 2011 2nd and 5th rounder, or a 2010 3rd and 6th rounder would be given up....again those picks would be a supplement to the Jaguars 10th overall pick.

The Jaguars dont possess a 2nd round pick this year, and a 3 team jump like that is worth probably a 2nd rounder straight up, however without that 2nd rounder I would imagine a 3rd and a 5th or a 2011 2nd and 5th would likely be all it would take...

The Browns are in rebuilding mode, and it is my belief that Colt McCoy is firmly on their radar in the 2nd round

to support the trade value I gave above, I found out that in the 2006 draft the Rams traded the 11th overall selection to the Broncos for the 15th and 68th (rd 3 pick 2) choices.

Thanks as always pizza

I've felt all along that trading down was our best bet. We have a lot of holes to fill. I personally really don't see them passing up Earl Thomas if he's still on the board. As much as we need to address the D-line I think the chance to potentially shore up the secondary will be too much to pass up.

As always pizza, LOVING ur comments.

Earlier (after watching NFL Network and them commenting on the Jimmy Clausen possibility to the Browns), I was thinking about Earl Thomas being the type of player Holmgren has traditionally coveted when looking for a DB, however traditionally he hasnt put the 1st round premium on Safeties.

Trading for Sheldon Brown was a step in the right direction and probably gives advantage to the D-Line imo, especially given the Shaun Rogers incident, and the fact that there's no drafted 3-4 Lineman on the Browns starting lineup as far as I know...

I also think that top 15 is too high for Earl Thomas, but Holmgren may try trading down even further if he can...

The KEY however, is that if the Browns choose to stay at #7, I find it hard to believe that Jimmy Clausen wont be the guy...Too rare of a QB prospect (Pro Style, tutored by a successful NFL Coordinator) in this current day of "Spread" Offensive Systems...just look at how Alex Smith is struggling when made to play action pass.

Hopefully Browns fans wont be surprised if Jimmy Clausen is the guy, even though Holmgren made those disparaging comments about him at Sam Bradford's Pro Day.

Thanks as always Pizza, and send my blessings to the family
